Russia Gets the GOLD They’ve Been Waiting For!

 The Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee congratulates the cross-country skiers, Nikita Kriukov and Alexander Panzhinskiy, who won Russia’s first gold and silver medals of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics in the Individual Sprint Classic discipline. Russia has been anxiously waiting for these medals. With this win, the athletes have proved that the Russian school of cross-country skiing is one of the strongest in the world. The Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee wishes to congratulate Ivan Skobrev, and all Russian fans, with his bronze medal in the 5000 meter Speed Skating event. This is Russia’s first Olympic medal at the Vancouver Olympic Games.
